The genre is clearly established from the outset of this video. It is made clear to the audience that it has a very urban/grime feel and will appeal to fans of R&B as well as drum and bass.
The mise en scene goes some way to making the genre clear to the audience. The location is very stereotypical for this type of track (Run down block of flats with monotone colours) which really helps establish a certain mood.
Costumes include stereotypical garments for both the genre and the age of the actors in the video, tracksuits, hoodies etc.
